Supporting Children in BC – SOS Children’s Village, A Night of Miracles and St. John’s School
Now that Halloween is behind us, it’s time to look forward to the season of giving. We have chosen to support the children and youth in our local community. This year the firm’s staff are going to enjoy some fun while we support three great organizations: SOS Children’s Village, BC Children’s Hospital A Night of Miracles and St. John’s School. We are looking forward to kicking up our heels through the month of November to support these great causes.
A Night of Miracles in support of BC Children’s Hospital
On November 7, 2015, A Night of Miracles will raise funds to purchase four new anesthesia machines for the current hospital and in the Teck Acute Care Centre once the new hospital opens. Anesthesia machines make surgeries safer for children, help them avoid complications and aid in recovery. This fundraiser raises well needed funds for the Children’s Hospital and Warnett Hallen LLP would like to thank the organizers and all members of the South Asian community that put this cause near and dear to their hearts and wallets.
S.O.S Children’s Village
Our youth deserve to be taken care of:
- BC Children’s Hospital receives over 85,000 patients each year and many of them are away from home, school and family.
- Over 9,200 children are in Foster Care in British Columbia
This charity has created a village and a family for youth at risk. The philosophy is that every child should belong to a family and grow up with love, respect and security. SOS Children’s Village BC is the only SOS location in Canada that provides homes, a supportive community, and programs to help foster children and youth grow into caring, self-reliant adults. On November 26, 2015, join us at the amazing 21st Annual Holiday Gala at the peak of Grouse Mountain. Enjoy a festive evening of food and entertainment and the exclusive opportunity to wander through and vote on the famed SOS Children’s Gingerbread Village. Warnett Hallen LLP’s sponsorship includes our entry into the Gingerbread competition. As we are not bakers, we are pleased to announce that the fabulous team at Beaucoup Bakery in the Kitsilano neighbourhood will be our baker designate. If you can’t attend the event, make sure you visit Grouse Mountain during the holiday season to vote on our fantastic gingerbread house.
St. John’s School
The annual All that Glitters Gala will be raising funds to build a new playground for the school. St. John’s is a co-ed school just blocks away from Warnett Hallen LLP. As a personal injury firm, we want to ensure that all younger children have a safe place to play in our urban environment.
